Sergio Cabrera
Visual Technician
Sergio Cabrera currently holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Cal State University, Northridge where he studied Tuba Performance for three years under the instruction of Dr. P. Blake Cooper. During this time at Cal State University, Northridge, Sergio performed with multiple ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Orchestra, and other brass ensembles. He previously studied Tuba Performance for four years at Pasadena City College under the direction of Dr. Beth Mitchell, where he played in Tuba-Euphonium ensembles, as well as the Pasadena City College Lancer Marching Band.
The Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps was Sergio’s summer home in 2015, where he marched Tuba. He also marched with Orange County Independent Winds Ensemble in 2015 and 2016.
Sergio's teaching experience is diverse, as he took on several roles in his educational path. His most recent role was as the Visual Caption Head at both Ramona High School and Santiago High School in 2019, as well as the Tuba Specialist at Etiwanda High School in 2022. Other roles include Visual Instructor at Moorpark High School in 2018, Visual Instructor at Banning High School in 2017, and Program Coordinator at Antelope Valley High School in 2016 through 2017. Currently, he is a visual technician and low brass technician at Etiwanda High School and Visual Caption Head at Santiago High School.
