James Ana
Band Director
Appointed Band Director at Rancho Cucamonga High School in 2022, James Ana is a teacher and conductor who is entering his 10th year of teaching--five of which have been with the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. Ana holds a Master's in Music Education from the American Band College of Central Washington University and a Bachelor's in Music Education from California State University, Fullerton. He has formerly served four years as the Instrumental Music Director at A.B. Miller High School and five years as the Instrumental Music Director at Montclair High School.
Throughout his career, Ana has been the recipient of numerous honors, including the Outstanding Educator Award in both 2015 and 2018 and being voted Teacher of the Year in 2017. In his position at Rancho Cucamonga, Ana oversees an accomplished marching band, three concert bands, a jazz band, a nationally-renowned color guard program, and a winter percussion program.
In his free time, Ana enjoys time with Jessica, his wife of nine years, and Amelia, their six-year-old daughter. They enjoy time in the desert, camping, riding UTVs and dirt bikes, traveling, the various Disney theme parks, and the beach. In addition, Ana spends spare time with colleagues and friends road cycling in different parts of Southern California.
